Young People
Talking to young people about the importance of staying mentally well and what they can do to help themselves is very important to CWMT. We also feel very strongly that those professionals working with children should have insight and understanding into how children’s mental health can become a problem, how children communicate their unhappiness and what are the recommended actions that can be taken to support the young person.
We have a Waller Trainer in London whose focus is to deliver training to staff and other professionals working in schools. In particular we support a strategic approach to this work linking education, primary care, CAMHs teams and local authority staff working with children. There is a training pack available called, Knowledge into Action: Coping with Depression and Developing Resilience.
Our regional Waller Trainers can also deliver free training to pupils and staff and can be contacted through our training page.
If you would like someone to deliver a talk or training course in your school please contact the office.
