CWMT conference sessions
Raising awareness of mental health amongst young people is very important to the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust. In addition to our training, we sometimes speak at larger events and conferences. We provide evidence-based presentations and workshops that motivate, build confidence, inform and offer practical ideas and tools that can easily be put into practice.
CWMT agrees to speaking at events that meet our charitable objectives and would offer a quality experience for attendees.
Our vision and aims are as follows:
Our vision is of a world where people understand and talk openly about depression, where young people know how to maintain wellbeing, and where the most appropriate treatment is available to everyone who needs it.
The Trust aims to:
Equip young people to look after their mental well being
Help people to recognise the signs of depression in themselves and others
Ensure expert and evidence-based help is available
What we offer
We offer sessions of around 1 hour, and can offer more than one session at the same event.
The topic and exact content of each session will be tailored to your needs and can be discussed with the speaker. We provide practical tools and strategies on how to support and promote positive wellbeing. The main topics we cover in our training are as follows:
General mental health awareness (overview, warning signs)
Whole school approach
Depression, low mood
Resilience, promoting positive wellbeing
What we ask for
When speaking at external events, we ask that CWMT’s presence at the event is appropriately and accurately recognised in publicity beforehand and afterwards. We like to post on Twitter and Facebook about events we are speaking at, and encourage delegates to interact with us on social media.
If delegates are being charged to attend the event or there is a budget to do so, we are very grateful if a donation could be made to CWMT to help continue our work. We also ask for feedback from the organiser after the event.
In order for us to find a suitable speaker for your event, please provide us with the details via our conference session request form by clicking the button below. Please note that our speakers get booked up several months ahead, so please bear this in mind when enquiring.
