Mental health problems in children and young people: A guide for parents
Looking after a child or young person who has emotional or mental health problems can be very hard and it can be difficult to know where to turn for help.
We know that parents of children with mental health problems can often feel alone, scared and unable to help. So, here at the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, we have created a leaflet that offers guidance on how best to support a child and where to find further advice and help with their mental health.
This leaflet has been created for professionals (especially GPs) to distribute to parents and carers.
On the back of the leaflet we have listed organisations which can offer support to parents; there is also a blank space to list local county organisations. The idea of the leaflet is that local GP surgeries, family hubs and other agencies will fill in this space to guide parents and carers to helpful, nearby resources.
Of course, if you are a parent of carer and you wish to download the leaflet direct from here, you are welcome to do so.
