We are delighted that Mary Nightingale, one of the UK’s best-known broadcasters, has agreed to be a Patron of CWMT.
Mary has twice been named Newscaster of the Year by TRIC (Television and Radio Industries Club). Mary presents the ITV Evening News, and has covered many key news events. In 2016 she anchored coverage of the US Election from Washington, and returned last year for the inauguration of President Trump. In 2002 she fronted ITV’s BAFTA nominated programme that broke the news of the death of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. She played a key role in ITV’s coverage of Prince William’s marriage to Catherine Middleton and the births of both royal babies, and was also part of ITV’s coverage of this year’s royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Mary, who has already been of great service to CWMT, says that she is honoured to be joining the Trust and very much looking forward to continuing to support our work in this new capacity.
